Open letter to a United States Army Officer.

Dear Officer, would you let us speak confidentially, I hope, at this point you are like one of the family, more or less. In the last two weeks connections from your personal computer to our website have been around one hundred and, altought the Alliance is far away from Pianosa waters yet, and are getting on and on. Difficult, Mister Officer, not to make a note on that, with your visible Usa.mil extension in the daily statistical reports. We want to start and make you sure about our democratic and antiterroristical faith of this little newspaper which is not financed by Usama Ben Laden family (the one making money with Bush family) and is not preaching religion wars (by the way, is not preaching war tout court). We are following with the note that your presence is not always welcome, you may think we are exagerating, but we assure that finding you inquiring almost every day about the things we are writing on, is not a credit at all, on the contrary, makes us feel a little bit more under "limited sovereignity". On the other hand we think that even for you reading every day local chronicles of this little island must be boring , what ever may get your interest about Capoliveri Mayor's supposed building illicits or other similar stuff? Our is a little newspaper rising marginal contents and is as much marginal itself to get on our hand on the Pianosa scandal (such as we are considerating) not even the very atlantic elban left parties, involved in more important things, so we can not immagine to deserve as much consideration by you and your government. So we are here to propose a mutually profitable affair: if you kindly will send your email adress, we undertake to pre-show rare pertinent articles so that you may connect less, with less wasteful spending of your precious energies and with our larger peace of mind. In due settimane le visite effettuate dal suo P.C. sul nostro sito sono state un centinaio e, nonostante l’Alliance sia ormai lontana dalle acque di Pianosa, continuano. Difficile non notarla, Sign. ufficiale, con la vistosa targa USA.mil che si porta dietro, nel quotidiano rapporto statistico del sito. Beh siamo per iniziare per rassicurarla sulla certa fede democratica ed antiterrorista di questa piccola testata che non è finanziata dalla famiglia di Usama Ben Laden (quella in affari con la famiglia Bush) e non predica guerre sante (anzi non predica guerre tout-court) Proseguiamo notando che la sua presenza non ci è sempre poi così gradita, lei penserà che stiamo esagerando, ma le assicuriamo che ritrovarla a informarsi un giorno sì e l’altro anche, delle cose che scriviamo, non ci gratifica affatto, anzi ci fa sentire un poco di più “a sovranità limitata”. D’altra parte pensiamo che anche per lei debba essere noioso scorrere ogni giorno le cronache di questo sputo d’Isola, cosa può importarle dei presunti abusi edilizi del Sindaco di Capoliveri o di altre consimili menate? Il nostro è un piccolo giornale che solleva questioni marginali, ed è esso stesso così marginale da non essere riuscito a tirare dalla sua parte sullo scandalo di Pianosa (ebbene sì lo consideriamo tale) neppure tutta l’atlanticissima sinistra elbana, che ha cose più importanti a cui badare, figuriamoci se meritiamo tanta considerazione da parte sua e del suo governo. Siamo quindi a proporle un affare, reciprocamente vantaggioso: Se gentilmente ci fornirà il suo indirizzo elettronico ci impegniamo a segnalarle in anteprima i rari articoli su questioni di sua pertinenza in modo tale che lei possa compiere più limitate incursioni nell’orto-web di nostra competenza con minor dispendio di sue preziosissime energie e con nostra maggiore tranquillità.
